Project Portfolio Managment
View Demo
A heat map where each rectangle, or cell, represents an individual project. The size
of each project corresponds to its budget and the color corresponds the cost overrun.
Green projects are within an acceptable cost overrun, yellow projects are marginal and red projects
are in trouble.
Projects are initially grouped by Project Manager, and then by Region, making several things readily
apparent:
- Trend: Jason is behind on almost all projects and should be helped or fired
- Allocation: Gary has many projects and looks to be overloaded since
several of them, some quite large, are falling behind. Consider offloading
some of his work to others who are doing well but are not overloaded.
- Relationship: Mary has an issue in the Atlanta office (only).
- Anomaly: Rangit has a CRITICAL issue in the SF office (only).
